Ready for another potent Question of the Day from eWrestlingNews?
AEW Revolution 2025 is on the horizon, occurring later tonight. Don’t forget to check back for live coverage here when the Zero Hour pre-show kicks off. This leaves us with just a sliver of time to share our last-ditch predictions.
So, let’s ponder this: “Who will triumph in the matches slated for AEW Revolution 2025?”
Don’t forget to comment below with your thoughts.
Ruminating on my own predictions…
Trios Match: “Big Boom!” A.J. (along with Big Justice) and The Conglomeration (featuring Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe) vs. Johnny TV and MxM Collection (comprising Mansoor and Mason Madden)
I cannot comprehend why the oddball double fall of dominoes gimmick is such a craze. Its humor eludes me. Perhaps it caters to a less intellectual humor based on noise and laughter, somewhat reminiscent of a child’s fascination with jingling keys?
In any case, the babyface team is my bet. The heels seem to be primarily there to provide comic relief with this whole spectacle. All the wrestlers here, especially Orange Cassidy, deserve somewhat better in my view.
Steel Cage Match: Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher
This is certain to be a thrilling encounter. I’m ambivalent about who wins. It can either give Fletcher a big boost, or it may establish Ospreay as the undisputed victor.
I predict Ospreay’s victory, although a win for Fletcher wouldn’t surprise me either.
MJF vs. “Hangman” Adam Page
Out of all the matches, this has me stumped. It’s unpredictable and the upcoming events remain a mystery. Projecting into an unknown future, I would assert that now is not the time for either to be vying for the world title or any other championship. So, where does that leave them? Difficult to say.
I’m inclined towards Page, as he hasn’t had a significant win in a while, but my confidence hovers around 51 percent.
Singles Match for #1 contender to the AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland vs. Ricochet / AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Cope
As we discuss who’s next in line for the world title, Swerve Strickland gets my vote. Consequently, I predict a retain for Jon Moxley, rendering the idea of Ricochet as his next opponent implausible. Swerve could then face Moxley at the next AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, in a match-up that underscores Moxley’s reign post-Cope.
AEW TBS Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Momo Watanabe
I reckon Moné is unbeatable, and she isn’t going to lose her title to an outsider. If any other belt were up for contention, its fate could possibly hang in the balance, but Watanabe’s chances of becoming TBS champion are slim.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: The Hurt Syndicate vs. The Outrunners
Here’s another one I consider straightforward: An upset by The Outrunners is unlikely. That would unnecessarily undermine The Hurt Syndicate. There may be moments where Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum seem on the verge of an upset, but it’s improbable to go in their favor.
Falls Count Anywhere Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Mariah May
It’s time for this rivalry to meet its end. Storm needs to retain, allowing both of them to move on. Reverting the championship to May feels like returning to the treadmill – only to revert back to a Storm challenge, now or later.
AEW International Championship: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Kenny Omega / AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Brody King
Until recent rumors of AEW considering merging the International and Continental Championships, I was sure Omega wouldn’t win. However, now it appears more plausible that Omega will triumph over Takeshita, while Okada fends off King. We could then see a title unification in coming months at All In: Texas, with Omega and Okada; ideally, resulting in an Intercontinental Championship.
