Despite CM Punk featuring prominently at WrestleMania, Tommy Dreamer’s view is that the superstar dubbed the ‘Best in the World’ was, in fact, a sideline attraction at the event.
In the initial headline event of the show, Punk failed in his quest for victory when Seth Rollins outwitted him and secured a win with help from Paul Heyman’s intrusive tactics.
Dreamer expressed his doubts about whether Punk found his WrestleMania 41 main event outing as fulfilling as he’d anticipated, in a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. He stated,
“As for CM Punk, Punk’s chapter has come to a close, folks. He made his way to the main event at WrestleMania. However, despite his efforts, he didn’t emerge victorious and even lost his closest ally… In this narrative, Punk played a secondary role, quite like how Seth Rollins was overshadowed by Cody Rhodes’ saga last year.”
In this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Punk attempted to strike Heyman but found himself on the receiving end of an attack from Rollins. In a surprising twist, Bron Breakker chose to side with Rollins and Heyman.
