The last time we saw Brock Lesnar in a WWE ring was in SummerSlam 2023, where he faced defeat against Cody Rhodes.
Currently, it’s unclear where Lesnar’s relationship stands with WWE. Janel Grant filed a sex trafficking lawsuit against John Laurinaitis, Vince McMahon, and WWE that implicated Lesnar, causing WWE to separate from The Beast.
Subsequently, Lesnar was strategically omitted from WWE’s planning for major events including the 2024 Royal Rumble, the France-based Elimination Chamber, and the grand event, WrestleMania 40. It was stated later that due to these legal troubles, WWE’s law department hadn’t approved Lesnar’s comeback. His return hinges on resolving these lawsuits.
Netflix is set to become the new home for WWE Monday Night RAW from January 2025 onwards. This marks the first time that RAW will not be broadcasting new episodes on conventional television networks.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we can look forward to seeing notable Superstars such as John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the lead-up to WrestleMania 41, which will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
However, it remains to be seen if Lesnar will partake, as unresolved legal disputes could affect his proposed appearance on the streaming platform.
The Newsletter reports, “WWE is poised for success with the transition to Netflix considering Johnson’s expected return for WrestleMania alongside Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. Cena is also expected to return. Among the stars of this era, the only uncertainty is Lesnar due to his legal issues and potentially Undertaker, who is unlikely to fight but might participate early in Netflix’s tenure.”
Despite the virtual certainty of Lesnar’s induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame, his involvement in Grant’s lawsuit could compromise his chances.
