During a recent appearance on the renowned “Busted Open Radio” program, ex-WWE superstar, Sonya Deville, also known as Daria Berenato, disclosed about her negotiation discussions prior to her departure from WWE. She also shared her surprise at being released from the company.

Here are some key points from the podcast:

Concerning the non-renewal of her contract, Deville stated, “That’s the peculiar aspect. Usually, when an athlete has been sitting at home for a couple of months, they anticipate a release. You’re usually sitting with a gut feeling, waiting for a call from the Connecticut number. However, such a scenario didn’t occur.”

Regarding the time when Pure Fusion Collective was a major part of WWE, Deville shared, “We enjoyed a prominent presence in the Royal Rumble, my group, PFC. We had a commendable performance, and it was deliberately planned that way. So, I was taken by surprise, especially when we were in the middle of negotiating a new contract as my current one was nearing its end. Things appeared to be going favorably, so yes, I was certainly taken aback.”

When asked about her contract discussions with WWE, Deville explained, “Before I delve into this, let me clarify that during our negotiations, I was not demanding an exorbitant price like million, to which they responded negatively. On the contrary, the figures we discussed were modest. I’m aware of the salary scales of other female counterparts since we all communicate, hence, my demands were not extravagant. Rather, it was the usual process of contract conclusion followed by initiation of discussions regarding future prospects. I was aware of my value and my position on the roster and asked for a compensation that matched it.”
