A Casino Gauntlet match on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite is set to decide the next challenger for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship, and one key participant has already been determined.
In a special Fight for the Fallen episode of AEW Dynamite, “Switchblade” Jay White fought his way to victory against wrestlers Roderick Strong and Swerve Strickland, earning the coveted No. 1 spot by taking down Strong.
Earlier on, Jay White had voiced his outrage backstage with a brief interview, still fuming from Wheeler Yuta’s interference at AEW Worlds End 2024 which cost him the AEW World Championship. His goal is to conquer the gauntlet, defeat Moxley, and secure the title. Tonight’s victory marks a significant step in that direction.
At the same time, the qualifying match took an unexpected turn when Swerve Strickland found himself under attack from wrestler Ricochet, who was brandishing a golden pair of scissors. After the match, Ricochet didn’t let up and continued his assault on Swerve, leaving Strickland in a bloody state and needing assistance from Strong, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly.
