In a recent episode of his podcast “Extreme Life”, Matt Hardy detailed the events that led to Matt Riddle being brought in as a last-minute substitution for Trey Miguel at the 2024 TNA Turning Point. This was as a result of travel issues Miguel experienced after being involved in an accident.
Here are some noteworthy comments from the podcast:
Regarding how Matt Riddle stepped in for Trey Miguel at the TNA Turning Point 2024 match, Hardy said: “We learned on the day of the event that Trey Miguel had been in an unfortunate accident on his way there. Thankfully, he is okay but the ordeal resulted in him not being able to compete later that night. Last-minute, we got Matt Riddle as a replacement. It turned out to be an excellent choice as we’ve received many compliments regarding the match the next day, despite the last-minute adjustments.”
Speaking about the arrangement of the match, Hardy stated: “We prepared different segments for Matt as per his style, but time was against us. I recall, originally the Hardy Boys music had started playing, Jeff had already come out, but I had forgotten to bring my belt. I had to rush back to fetch it and made my entrance with the belt on my shoulder. We were all in a hectic state, but, in the end, we put on a show and got it done.”
