The much-anticipated event AEW Blood & Guts is scheduled for Wednesday, the 24th of July at Nashville, Tennessee’s Bridgestone Arena. The lineup for this event is slowly but surely falling into place.

Prior to this week’s AEW Dynamite episode on July 3, the only certainty was that The Elite and Team AEW will face off in an exciting encounter. The Elite’s team obvious selections were The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry. They are yet to reveal their fifth team member. Conversely, Team AEW’s lineup was entirely open with several potentially eligible wrestlers.

However, things have started to shift as Mark Briscoe has shown intent, positioning himself as the first confirmed member of Team AEW. His declaration was followed by aggression from Jack Perry in response to his loyalty towards All Elite Wrestling. Even though Kyle O’Reilly attempted to intervene, Kazuchika Okada consequently handled him. Despite The Young Bucks entering the chaos, they retreated after The Acclaimed intervened.

The last match of The Elite in this kind of situation- Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing 2024- resulted in their victory over Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, Cash Wheeler, and Dax Harwood of FTR.

Allin’s been dealing with injury setbacks, FTR’s last engagement was a time limit draw against Blackpool Combat Club on the June 8th edition of Collision, while Danielson has been occupied with the Owen Hart Cup.

If things go understandably, Blood & Guts may feature Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, Billy Gunn, Max Caster, and Anthony Bowens for Team AEW. However, the possibilities are open-ended with potential involvement of stars like Swerve Strickland, MJF, or Will Ospreay.
