In a recent conversation on the “Rasslin'” podcast, AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May shared insights about her victory at AEW All In London 2024, discussed how one could dethrone her, and touched upon other pertinent subjects.
Here are some key takeaways from the podcast:
Speaking about the AEW women’s roster, Mariah May asserted, “I do not fear anyone. Reflect upon what I did to Toni Storm. Toni Storm was one of the finest champions we ever had. Numerous women aimed to strip her of that championship; I observed it all from the ringside, but none could succeed. [Walker interjects to remind listeners how May assisted her]. Nonetheless, it’s a commendation to Toni Storm for having me and Luther alongside her.”
Commenting on what criteria could help one win the title from her, May stated, “I believe it’s going to require something extremely remarkable to take this championship away from me. At just 26, I consider myself one of the most skilled wrestlers in the locker room, and I am unquestionably the most intelligent woman there. I arrived in my first year and vanquished Toni Storm, our top lady, by utterly outclassing her, and took this championship from her at Wembley Stadium during All In. Some of those ladies haven’t even made an appearance at All In. I hence believe, only someone exceptionally extraordinary could even attempt to challenge me for this.”
This week on AEW Dynamite, May successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time. She managed to overcome former titleholder Nyla Rose to maintain her championship status.
