During NXT No Mercy, wrestler Tony D’Angelo didn’t claim victory over Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship, but he’s not surrendering his ambitions just yet. In a candid conversation with Adriana Rizzo last week, he confessed his concern about losing again, and the D’Angelo Family pledged to assist him in training and preparing strategically for another shot at the title.
The latest episode of WWE NXT communicated this development, with a vignette showcasing D’Angelo’s rigorous training under the watchful eyes of The Family. They’re using traditional methods to notably drive his capabilities and build his self-assurance.
“Nose to the grindstone. Striving for Success. @TonyDangeloWWE is all set for his rematch against @Obaofwwe! 😤 #WWENXT”, – tweeted WWE on September 25, 2024.
A possibility of a contract signing has been hinted for the October 1st NXT episode, which also doubles as The CW Network premiere, in Chicago. It has been alluded to by D’Angelo in the vignette, although details are scarce. Concurrently, WWE has also announced that The Miz would feature Tony D and Femi on his scheduled MizTV segment.
Post a commercial break, Oba Femi addressed some off-screen interviewer’s questions regarding the training footage of his opponent, D’Angelo. Femi refrained from making any substantial comments, promising to speak more on that in the upcoming week.
The competition for the NXT North American Championship is slated for two weeks later when NXT visits The Factory in St. Louis, Missouri. The main event will be accompanied by the presence of Randy Orton vs. Je’Von Evans, an NXT Tag Team Championship Match between Axiom & Nathan Frazer and A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller), and an NXT North American Championship Match between title-holder Oba Femi and contender Tony D’Angelo. Sexyy Red is also expected to make an attendance.
