Former AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland, recently featured on “Vlad TV,” and spoke about how he came up with his popular ring name.

Discussing his journey, Strickland shared that he initially adopted the name Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. He chose Isaiah as a tribute to Isaiah Rashad, who he admires, and Scott from Travis Scott. He explained that he let AEW borrow the name ‘Swerve’ for his duration with them and that he will retain it post his stint at AEW.

Diving deeper into the ‘Swerve’ part of his name, Strickland shared that it was just a catchy phrase from a song that stuck with him. He likened it to a boxer’s name in the middle of the full name, finding coolness in the moniker, Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland, and kept it for over a decade.

Meanwhile, during an interview on the “Nikki & Brie Show,” Bryan Danielson, another professional wrestler, revealed an adorable anecdote about his son, Buddy. Danielson shared that Buddy enjoys wrestling with his dad even though he has been requested not to jump on Danielson’s neck, due to the latter’s medical condition.

Furthermore, Danielson shared that Buddy’s favorite wrestler in AEW is Bryan Keith, the ‘Bad Apple.’ He mentioned how Buddy gets ecstatic when Keith appears on the screen, and he loves answering Buddy’s innocent queries about who’ll win the matches.
