On a recent edition of his “Lex Express” podcast, Lex Luger discussed the impending retirement of Sting and how he believes the Icon could still return for special appearances from time to time.

Luger said, “Not to give anything away about our private conversations but I kinda already knew he was really considering wrapping it up, as far as wrestling matches. He hasn’t told me this but I feel like the condition he stays in, the way he looks, his character, he could still come back and lock somebody up in a Scorpion [Deathlock]. I’m not sure he wants to do that, he might just want to do a clean [break].”

Luger also noted that he’d love to be there for Sting’s retirement at AEW Revolution 2024 in March, but isn’t sure whether WWE would allow it due to his contract. He said,

“I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to do it. I’m under contract to WWE as an ambassador.

Sting’s Impending Retirement and Possible Return for Special Appearances

Legendary professional wrestler Sting is set to retire from active wrestling matches, according to Lex Luger’s recent comments on his “Lex Express” podcast. However, Luger believes that Sting could still make special appearances in the future.

Luger, a close friend of Sting, shared his insights on the retirement plans of the wrestling icon. He mentioned that while Sting hasn’t explicitly told him about his decision, Luger had a feeling that Sting was considering wrapping up his in-ring career. Luger also highlighted Sting’s physical condition, his iconic look, and his character, suggesting that he could still return for occasional appearances to lock someone up in his signature Scorpion Deathlock move.

However, Luger acknowledged that Sting might prefer a clean break from wrestling altogether. He expressed uncertainty about whether Sting would be interested in making sporadic appearances or if he would choose to retire completely.

Luger also expressed his desire to be present for Sting’s retirement at AEW Revolution 2024 in March. However, he mentioned that his contract with WWE as an ambassador might pose a hurdle in attending the event. It remains to be seen if WWE would allow Luger to participate in Sting’s retirement ceremony.
