In a recent discussion with Cultaholic, professional wrestler Michael Oku shared his thoughts on his forthcoming encounter with MJF at RevPro’s Summer Sizzler festival, slated for August 11 in London, England.
The fight will decide the claimant of MJF’s AEW American Championship.
During the conversation, Oku stated, “Certainly, it’s an a quite extraordinary period in the sphere of professional wrestling. Everybody proclaims that. I’ve picked up such comments independently of my personal endeavors, and now the sentiments resonate with me. I find myself in the epicenter of how unpredictable wrestling appears in 2024. This is undeniably an enormous step for me. The fact of the matter is, I’m vying for the title, but the great thing about it is that it brings RevPro into the limelight. Scores of individuals will tune in to discover my identity and, subsequently, familiarize themselves with the rest of the RevPro crew and other matches. Quite amusingly, regardless of MJF’s disparaging remarks about me, branding me as ‘scrawny’, and his derogatory comments about our country, what remains a fact that he can’t manipulate is that he issued the challenge to me. I didn’t submit any form or try to communicate with individuals like Tony Khan or Chris Jericho. I’ve been single-mindedly concentrating on the Copper Box. He specifically asked to compete with me, so no matter what criticism he might hurl, the prevailing truth remains constant… I am seriously going to astonish the world once more.”
MJF managed to snatch the AEW American Title from Will Ospreay during the intensely contested fight at Dynamite 250.
