Next week, NXT is set to make a roaring comeback to the WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida. The spectacular lineup includes two riveting championship matches and a gripping face-off between Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.
Lexis King made a bold move in the last episode of challenging Ricky Saints for an NXT North American Championship match. Surprisingly, he even pledged his NXT Heritage Cup in a bid to coax Saints into a title-for-title showdown. Saints stepped up to the plate, only to find out that he didn’t stand the chance to compete for the trophy. The reason is simple; King conceded the Heritage Cup to a resurgent Noam Dar.
To make things worse, King launched a surprise attack on Saints from his blind spot, post a strategic distraction delivered by Ethan Page. It appears that the former doesn’t only blame Saints for his loss, but also seeks revenge.
On the other side of the arena, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger are preparing for their maiden title defense as they challenge Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
This development was stimulated when Inamura had a candid conversation with the NXT General Manager Ava, expressing his regret about his term with the brand nearing its end. He was despondent about his near-miss attempt at winning the championships. Touched by his despair, Ava granted him another opportunity, only to find out he had been pulled into a sympathy ruse by Inamur.
While the rest of the matches are yet to be confirmed, we can surely anticipate a heated “confrontation” between Tony D’Angelo and Stacks. The recent episode gave us a sneak peek into this with The Don advising Adriana Rizzo to lay low for a while, and Stacks seemingly sending Luca Crusifino off the limelight.
In summary, here’s what we can expect from next week’s NXT episode:
– NXT North American Championship Match: Ricky Saints (defending champion) vs Lexis King
– Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo showdown
– NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Hank Walker & Tank Ledger (defending champions) vs. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura
