WWE NXT saw the triumphant return of Noam Dar on April 22, 2025, and he certainly made his presence known. He marked his return by overpowering Lexis King in the ring and winning the NXT Heritage Cup for the staggering fourth time, shattering his own previously-set record.
Dar had been out of the televised action following a victory over Dijak on April 16, 2024, due to a leg injury that he sustained in the fight.
Unfortunately for King, he was forced to defend his title this evening due to a situation involving recovering the trophy from comedic magic duo Penn & Teller, who, in a classic bit of their humor, had vanished it at WWE’s Stand & Deliver event. Agitatedly forced into a corner, King had to acknowledge the existence of magic and agree to put his title on the line.
In anticipation of the wrestling match, King attempted to use his situation as leverage, proposing a title-for-title combat with Ricky Saints for next week’s NXT North American Champion title. With his losing the Heritage Cup, his plans are naturally thwarted. Whether or not he’ll still receive a shot at the North American title match next week remains unclear at this point.
With Dar now holding the championship instead of King, it remains to be seen whether a revival of the British Rounds rules, which had been set aside by King, will be reintroduced for the Heritage Cup matches.
