On Nic Nemeth: “I think [Nemeth] will do well. First and foremost, he’s a guy who’s just like an excellent worker. He was very much ahead of the curve in the way people bumped and sold he gets that. That’s where his money is in many many ways. Good-looking dude, nice dude that I like a lot. He’s gonna do well, and I think it’s so cool that he actually showed up at Wrestle Kingdom for New Japan. He showed up at TNA. You never know where he can show up. I think that’s one of the greatest gifts you can give wrestling fans. I also think that’s how you get yourself hot too, so I think he’s doing plenty smart.”

On Jinder Mahal: “I like Jinder as a person and I also liked him as a performer, too. I thought he was an excellent heel. I thought he was good. I thought he really had the ability to piss people off in the most authentic way possible… I am not a Jinder hinderer.”

On why he’s not big on wins and losses: “I thought he was getting steam as a heel. I’m not huge on the win/loss thing. I feel like wrestling is more about the story than the actual athlete’s records. That’s me though. I know not everybody’s like that. It is important to win, there’s times that people should win because they’re in a scenario and they’re in a story where it’s time for them to win and the blowoff to happen. But even when that happened, I do remember hearing his reaction at some of the events and he was very booed and people wanted to see him get beat up. So I get why they tried it…. I didn’t have an issue with it.”

In a recent episode of his podcast, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” AEW wrestler Matt Hardy shared his thoughts on Nic Nemeth’s signing with TNA Wrestling, Jinder Mahal’s current heel persona, and his perspective on wins and losses in professional wrestling.

Regarding Nic Nemeth, Hardy expressed his belief that Nemeth will succeed in his new venture. He praised Nemeth’s skills as an excellent worker who was ahead of the curve in terms of his bumping and selling abilities. Hardy also commended Nemeth’s versatility and unpredictability, as he has made appearances in various promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling and TNA. Hardy believes that surprising wrestling fans and keeping them guessing is one of the best ways to stay relevant and build momentum in the industry.

Moving on to Jinder Mahal, Hardy shared his admiration for Mahal both as a person and a performer. He considered Mahal to be an excellent heel who had the ability to genuinely anger and frustrate audiences. Hardy appreciated Mahal’s authentic approach to generating heat and acknowledged that he was not among those who disliked Mahal’s character.

When discussing the importance of wins and losses in wrestling, Hardy admitted that he personally did not place much emphasis on them. He believed that wrestling is more about storytelling than an athlete’s win-loss record. However, he acknowledged that there are times when a victory is necessary to progress a storyline or create a satisfying climax. Even though Mahal faced criticism during his championship reign, Hardy noted that the negative crowd reactions indicated that the character was doing its job effectively.
