Kevin Owens Regrets Injury Will Prevent Final John Cena Match

Kevin Owens, a former Universal Champion, is currently sidelined due to a neck injury. It’s believed that this injury might unfortunately keep him from the wrestling ring until 2025.

In a recent episode of the “My Mom’s Basement” podcast, Owens expressed his dismay about how this injury will prevent him from having a final match with John Cena. He stated,

“That’s not gonna happen now. And I was really hoping I got to do that before he’s done… There’s matches I’d love to have, like I’d love to wrestle Finn [Balor] at WrestleMania but that one with John was something I was really holding out hope for.”

Owens and Cena clashed in the limelight in 2015, where Owens surprised many by registering a clean victory over John at that year’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.

John Cena is set to retire from wrestling in 2025. Upcoming this month, he will be contending for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Cena has outspokenly stated his intention to ‘ruin’ wrestling. He plans to retire as the title holder, compelling WWE to conceive a new ‘toy’ for the wrestling talents without any attached heritage or tradition.
