Josh Alexander, a previous TNA World Champion, recently revealed the date of his free agency and outlined his future plans in an interview. He appeared on the “Insight” podcast, where he talked about his experiences in TNA, including his reign as World Champion, and multiple other subjects.
Below are some highlights from the podcast:
Alexander admitted to being both nervous and excited as February 15th marked his free agency. TNA last extended his contract by a year on February 14th the previous year. He expressed worry about the future, saying he might continue wrestling indie circuits or even revert to construction work to support his family. He admitted to considering the advice from a friend, Santana, about taking risks and exploring other opportunities.
On the topic of what comes next, Alexander said he was considering all possibilities. His two wrestling-fan sons have acquainted him with Monday’s Raw, Tuesday’s NXT, Wednesday’s Dynamite, and Thursday’s Impact. He expressed an interest in wrestling with the tag team from NXT or having a solo match with Pete Dunne, Gunther, and many others.
Regarding his brief TNA World Title reign, he showed mixed feelings. On the one hand, he was glad to ascend from a 4-way tag match to a championship face-off with legend Christian. But on the other hand, he wished he could show audiences more without the Moose.
Reflecting on a parody song by Joe Hendry that was partly about him, Alexander revealed that he had been unaware of what the lyrics referenced. Commenting on his reaction to the song, he remarked that although it was challenging to keep a straight face during the live performance, he had chosen to let it unfold spontaneously.
