John Cena has often been compared to Superman by the WWE Universe, and that comparison is apt according to the man himself.

During Cena’s tenure as a full-time Superstar, fans often dubbed him ‘Super-Cena’ for being booked to win matches despite the opponent getting the majority of offense in.

On a recent edition of Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast, Cena was asked to define his character in WWE, which was easy for the former World Champion. He said,

“John Cena in the WWE existence is quite easy for me to define: Superman. And I don’t mean I’m stronger than everybody, I can outrun a speeding train, or [I’m] stronger than a train, or faster than a bull, or whatever. I mean, Superman acts with pure virtue. Superman has a moral code. Superman can be conflicted, but when he’s conflicted, his North Star is his moral code and his virtues. It affects the body language. It affects your delivery.”

Cena added that he’s currently an older Superman who’s looking in the mirror and seeing he’s not the same man he was in the past.

John Cena’s most recent match was at WWE Crown Jewel in November of last year and saw the 16-time WWE World Champion lose to The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa.

John Cena: The Superman of WWE

John Cena, a name that resonates with wrestling fans around the world, has often been compared to the iconic superhero Superman. This comparison is not only made by the WWE Universe but also acknowledged by Cena himself. In a recent interview on Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast, Cena delved into his character in WWE and why he identifies with the Man of Steel.

During his active years as a full-time WWE Superstar, Cena was often referred to as “Super-Cena” due to his consistent victories, even when his opponents seemed to dominate the matches. This led to a perception that Cena was invincible, just like Superman. When asked to define his character in WWE, Cena didn’t hesitate to draw the parallel between himself and the iconic superhero.

Cena explained, “John Cena in the WWE existence is quite easy for me to define: Superman.

The comparison to Superman goes beyond physical strength for Cena. He believes that it is about embodying virtuous qualities and having a strong moral compass. Cena sees himself as a character who acts with integrity and stays true to his principles, just like Superman. This approach not only influences his in-ring persona but also reflects in his body language and delivery.

However, Cena acknowledges that he is now an older version of Superman. He recognizes that time has passed, and he is not the same man he was in the past. This self-awareness allows him to reflect on his journey and embrace the changes that come with age and experience.

Despite his status as a legendary WWE Superstar, Cena has taken a step back from full-time wrestling in recent years to pursue other ventures, including acting and philanthropy. His most recent match took place at WWE Crown Jewel in November of last year, where he faced The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and experienced defeat.

John Cena’s comparison to Superman is not only a testament to his impact on the wrestling industry but also a reflection of the values he embodies. Like the Man of Steel, Cena has inspired millions with his dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to doing what is right. Whether he’s in the ring or outside of it, Cena continues to be a symbol of hope and strength for fans worldwide.
