During a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, professional WWE wrestler Austin Theory shared his experience of taking an F-5, a signature move from Brock Lesnar on the top of a chamber pod at the high-profile WWE Elimination Chamber event in 2022.
The podcast had many notable moments, including the following:
Austin Theory discussed his conversation with Vince McMahon during practice before the anticipated move: “The evening preceding the show, we were at rehearsals. Everyone is present, AJ Styles is on Brock Lesnar’s shoulders, and a crash pad is laid on the floor. Suddenly, Vince McMahon approached me from behind and said, ‘I want you to take that…’. The subsequent day, Michael Hayes, among others, kept teasing me, questioning, ‘Are you certain you want to take that fall? It’s not necessary,’ but I knew in my heart that Vince wanted me to do it.”
He also commented on how the perilous part played out during their match: “Lesnar lifted me up for the F-5, then threw me. I landed firmly on my feet, which was quite challenging, but as soon as I made contact with the ground, I swiftly rolled with the momentum, brushing against the metal slightly. However, I was safe other than that… It felt as though I could have snapped my legs right there.”
