ROH Women’s World Champion Athena last defended her title at December’s ROH Final Battle 2023 pay-per-view event, beating Billie Starkz in a singles contest.

In a recent appearance on the “Sunday Night’s Main Event” podcast, Athena discussed her goal to close out 2024 as a Triple Crown Champion.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On wanting to end the year as a Triple Crown Champion: “I just hope to end 2024 as the Triple Crown Champion. That’s the greedy part in me. I don’t know if my body will hold up having to defend three titles in a night, but we’re going to try it and we’re going to go for it. That is my goal at the end of 2024. As much as I love Ring of Honor, I know that Tony [Tony Khan] and I have also talked, we know it’s not going to last forever, even though I call myself the forever ROH Champion.”

On Tony Khan being a mastermind: “Just know, I don’t talk about stuff because I genuinely want it to be a surprise when it does happen. It’s coming. We have talked. Everyone thinks that Tony isn’t a mastermind, he is. He does everything for a reason. Just wait, be patient, stay on board with ROH because even if I’m not able to be on ROH, there are so many women, men, and tag teams and everyone gives their heart and soul to that cause.”

Athena, the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion, has set her sights on a new goal for 2024 – becoming a Triple Crown Champion. In a recent appearance on the “Sunday Night’s Main Event” podcast, Athena expressed her desire to hold three titles simultaneously by the end of the year.

During the podcast, Athena acknowledged the challenge of defending three titles in a single night and questioned whether her body would be able to withstand such a demanding feat. However, she remains determined to pursue this goal and push herself to the limit. She emphasized her ambition to end 2024 as a Triple Crown Champion.

While Athena is currently associated with Ring of Honor (ROH), she also revealed that she has had discussions with Tony Khan, the mastermind behind All Elite Wrestling (AEW). She hinted at potential surprises and collaborations between the two promotions in the future. Athena praised Khan’s strategic thinking and assured fans that there are exciting plans in the works.

Despite her aspirations beyond ROH, Athena expressed her love for the promotion and encouraged fans to continue supporting it. She highlighted the dedication and passion displayed by the wrestlers, both male and female, as well as tag teams. Athena emphasized that even if she were to move on from ROH, there is still a wealth of talent within the promotion that deserves recognition and support.

Athena’s appearance on the podcast provided fans with a glimpse into her mindset and goals for the future. Her determination to become a Triple Crown Champion showcases her drive and ambition within the wrestling industry. As fans eagerly await the unfolding of these plans, Athena’s journey promises to be an exciting one to follow.
