On an episode of his podcast, “Kliq This”, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash commented on the potential for Sting to take on a leadership position in AEW.
Offering his unique viewpoint, Nash indicated that while Nick Aldis adeptly performs the role of General Manager of WWE SmackDown, a similar position might not be right for the legendary WCW wrestler. Nash observed,
“Nick is doing a quick job at WWE because he’s dressed professionally, and having Sting in a suit and face paint? That just doesn’t work. Steve (Sting) won’t do it. How can he be the commissioner and don sunglasses? To simplify, Sting won’t do it.”
Sting, who recently had his farewell match at AEW Revolution 2024, has given his thoughts about continuing to engage with AEW:
“Well, Tony hinted about me remaining part of the organization in some capacity. We’re yet to figure anything out, but we’ll certainly have a conversation in due course. I might consider it. It’s uncertain what role I could take up… But I don’t want to be a manager or an agent or something similar. I’m open to engaging in discussions.”
