On the latest episode of his podcast “The ARN Show”, WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson delved into his memories of wrestling The Renegade in WCW and commented on the comparison between Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes, both of whom are notable figures in the wrestling industry.

Here are some major takeaways from the podcast:

Reflecting on his match with The Renegade in WCW, Anderson had this to say, “Indeed, that was one of the unimpressive matches I’ve ever been in. Seriously though? They created a stripped-down version of The (Ultimate) Warrior, without proper research. This could’ve led to a serious lawsuit because the resemblance was uncanny with the arm and boot decorations. They even silhouetted him for a moment, making you believe it’s The Ultimate Warrior. It was too similar though, and I believe it went into legal discussions. Consequently, they made him revert back to his original persona. To be honest, he lacked experience. He was a novice. To put it bluntly, his prior profession was a stripper at a nightclub somewhere. So, his performance in the ring didn’t quite hit the mark.”

On being asked who is a superior performer between Dustin and Cody Rhodes, Anderson commented, “That’s a tough question to answer as they belong to different eras, operating in different roles. Cody has done a commendable job, turning his life mission into a significant storyline. To win at WrestleMania and become the champion like his father – that’s his narrative, and we discuss it constantly. It’s a storyline that keeps viewers hooked.

“Dustin, on the other hand, deserves credit for breathing life into the persona of Goldust. He and (Ricky) Steamboat made an exceptional team when they paired up. So, it’s hard for me to choose between the two. It’s too close a call.”
