Ricochet made his mark at the NJPW Power Struggle event, surprising everyone as he took on IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr.
The confrontation has set the stage for their upcoming match at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
In a recent sit-down with NJPW, Ricochet was open about his intent for the match. He stated,
“In New Japan, we’re here with the same purpose – to be the best. Zack Sabre Jr carries the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, and it’s understood that whoever holds this title is among the world’s greatest wrestlers. I came back to assure people I belong in that category. Zack holds a special place in my heart as a long-time friend. But we both know that professional wrestling is a business and right now, he’s leading the way with the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. There’s a long history between us, but the truth is, he has something I want.”
AJ Francis, the wrestler formerly known as Top Dolla in WWE, is on record stating that these days TNA Wrestling is the most exciting destination in the wrestling world.
In a conversation with Wrestleholics, Francis shared his experience with TNA so far and his ambitions for the company. He said,
“I’m not just participating in TNA, I’m winning. My aim is to elevate TNA to the heights it once enjoyed. Back in the day, with the likes of Sting, Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, TNA sold out arenas with 10,000 to 15,000 seats. In recent times, our Slammiversary and Bound For Glory shows have been some of the biggest in the last decade. TNA is trending, arguably the hottest company in wrestling right now. I’m proving a point here – that I’m not just a supportive player like I was in WWE. I’m the leading player you need and with TNA, I’m that Super Bowl-winning quarterback your team desired.”
