Jericho had an advantage in numbers as several members of his The Inner Circle crew accompanied him down to the ring. Santana & Ortiz took multiple shots at Moxley while the ref was distracted during the match. Jake Hager also ran into the ring to interrupt a submission attempt by the challenger. There was no quit in Moxley and he stayed strong despite the multiple infractions, and Aubrey Edwards eventually threw the wrestlers out after giving them far too much leeway. However, Sammy Guevara snuck in and hit Moxley with the championship belt while this was all going down.

Moxley was busted open from the belt shot but was able to kick out of a cover attempt. Jericho would later go for a Judas Effect but Moxley was able to duck under and hit a DDT. Moxley then hit a Paradigm Shift for the win to become the new champion.

One step ahead of @IAmJericho!
