Pro wrestler Will Ospreay revealed his aspirations to become the first individual ever to simultaneously claim the AEW World and International titles this year.
During the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay emerged victorious in the Casino Gauntlet Match. This win secured him a slot in the AEW World Championship match at the cross-promotion pay-per-view event, AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door.
Post maintaining the AEW International Championship belt during the Collision event, Ospreay shared his ambition of achieving dual champion status on AEW’s digital media platform. He was quoted as stating,
“I am on a mission to defend this honorable International Championship, augment its prestige, and enhance its legacy. Concurrently, I have my eyes on the World Championship as well. There exist no written rules that prohibit me from defending this title while simultaneously pursuing the World Championship. Prepare for ‘Two-Belts Billy’; get your t-shirts, lads.”
Looking ahead, Ospreay is set to clash with Swerve Strickland at the Forbidden Door event. Meanwhile, Strickland is ready to stake his title against Roderick Strong in the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
