In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, wrestling legend Bully Ray discussed the current state of the AEW TNT Championship, which has been vacated recently. He expressed,
““I would have loved to have seen Jack Perry adorning that championship, stirring the pot. Imagine if it was only for a fleeting week, possibly awarding it to him this week, followed by Perry flaunting the belt and relishing in his victory, and then we stage a title celebration in honor of Jack Perry as the freshly crowned TNT Champion.”
In the latest broadcast of AEW Dynamite, The Elite dropped the bombshell that Adam Copeland was no longer the title holder due to an injury incurred at the Double Or Nothing 2024 event.
Undertaking their duties as AEW EVPs, The Young Bucks attempted to hand over the title to Perry, only for Christopher Daniels to step in and thwart the move. Daniels then uncovered the news that he had been bestowed the role of an Interim EVP.
Anticipation is now building for the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event, where we will witness Konosuke Takeshita compete in a ladder match against a yet-to-be-disclosed opponent to name the new title-holder.
