Vince McMahon is making a determined push in order to stave off any parallels drawn between himself and Harvey Weinstein, a strategy that you might notice in his conduct dealing with the continuing lawsuit of Janel Grant.
In a fresh legal motion, the battery of lawyers representing McMahon have made several derogatory remarks aimed at Miss Grant which she has presently submitted a motion to have it removed from the official record.
The legal representatives for McMahon have counter-argued that her remarks bring about essential context, and claimed that Grant’s demand for these comments to be obliterated is the epitome of double standards.
In the newest segment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer dissected McMahon’s legal gambit. He explained,
“His desire is to distance himself from that name, he doesn’t aspire to be Harvey Weinstein. His potential strategy is to depict and portray her as this deluded, untruthful woman. ‘There’s no denial that I had an affair with her, but all the things that she has claimed, every single detail of it, is baseless.'”
The president of AEW, Tony Khan, drew a comparison recently between WWE and the scandalous Hollywood producer, in the same breath defining AEW as the Pepsi of professional wrestling.
Khan’s words sparked a negative reaction from his own organization, with many expressing that it was uncouth and tarnished the entire WWE and its personnel due to the actions of a single individual.
Khan, later on, tried to justify his statements by underlining the necessity of promoting AEW as the top performer.
