Trick Williams, the reigning WWE NXT Champion, has expressed his admiration for CM Punk’s commitment to teaching the rookies backstage. Punk, famously known as the “Best in the World”, has made impactful contributions to the rising stars’ journeys.
Since his comeback to WWE last year, Punk has noticeably been present at WWE NXT events, lending his insights and expertise to the emerging talents present.
In a recent episode of the podcast “No-Contest Wrestling”, Williams shared his thoughts on Punk’s positive influence on WWE NXT’s silver brand.
“Punk, he’s just a stand-up guy. When you meet certain people, you can sense their authenticity, which he has in abundance.
“His dedication to mentoring us, the upcoming generation, transforming us into the superstars of tomorrow, is admirable. His advice is valuable and authentic. He guides us on how to carry oneself, both inside and outside the ring, with all the requisites to become a Superstar.”
In WWE NXT’s premiere episode on The CW, Punk participated, and Williams secured the NXT Championship from Ethan Page, thereby starting his second term.
Williams is set to defend his title against Ridge Holland at the NXT Deadline event scheduled for this weekend. In addition, Punk had recently made his appearance on this week’s RAW, where he had a showdown with Seth Rollins.
