Britt Baker made an impressive comeback to AEW at the 2024 Forbidden Door event, following a hiatus of almost a year. She has been swiftly put in the running for the coveted TBS Championship, facing off against the esteemed dual champion, Mercedes Mone.
In the latest episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, respected ECW icon Tommy Dreamer, commended AEW’s choice to set up a match between Mone and Baker. Dreamer articulated his belief that this clash has the potential to be their most worthwhile matchup. His exact words were,
“Bringing these two talents together is a gold mine for the AEW women’s division currently. It’s an undeniable strategy – create a verbal battle. Britt Baker has a way with words. Not only is she a formidable wrestler, she’s also an exceptional talker. She knows how to win the crowd over, just as she knows how to provoke them. Mercedes will find herself drawn into this verbal exchange. Britt has the knack for holding the mic. It was brilliant to use social media to have Lexi [Nair] question Britt Baker, who then said, ‘You know what, a lot of people are curious. Whilst the Baker versus Mone bout is predicted to occur at AEW All In 2024, AEW has not yet formally announced the contest.
