Tommy Dreamer is pleased to see Wes Lee back on WWE NXT programming and has high hopes for the popular former NXT North American Champion.

Lee returned to TV during the April 30, episode of the gold brand after being out of action since December 2023 with a serious back injury.

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Lee defeated Josh Briggs.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Dreamer discussed Lee’s return to NXT. He said,

“They recapped his entire career, to the point of then returning, and then walking through that backstage with all the wrestlers and then walking out to the arena, [I] thought it was really, really cool.

“To be able to come back in the time that he did, it’s just an awesome feel-good story. But it’s also a good story to see because he had to give up everything and work so hard to get back to where he wanted to be, to the point where you don’t know what’s going to happen… so it’s pretty cool to see that and I’m happy he’s feeling good.”

During his return last month, Lee teased getting back in the hunt for the NXT North American Championship. The title is currently held by Oba Femi.
