Former WWE commentator Kevin Egan wasn’t all that upset about being let go from the Sports Entertainment promotion earlier this year.

Egan, who performed as Kevin Patrick, was let go from WWE in January, shortly after he was moved to SmackDown as the brand’s play-by-play commentator.

On a recent edition of the “Sports Media with Richard Dietsch” podcast, Egan explained that he was okay with being let go and that there were no hard feelings. He said,

“The fans deserve more, that chair deserves more. So for me, it was time. I had a chat with Michael Cole weeks before, and I said, ‘If you think I should move on, I’m good with that. Let’s hug it out and move on.’”

Egan is now the lead host for Apple TV+ flagship show ‘MLS 360’ and has experience presenting soccer-related broadcasts from his pre-WWE days.
