During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Tommy Dreamer spoke on record about Natalya being dismissed earlier this month from the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Dreamer voiced his opinion that Natalya should have been the first to earn the title of champion.
Below are some key moments from the podcast’s discussion:
Dreamer discussed the dismissal of Natalya from the championship: “When it comes to Nattie, I found her performance captivating and I believe she became the highlight of the event. Being one of her biggest supporters, I concur with her sentiment expressed in her tweet – I would have loved to see Nattie emerge victorious, becoming the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. In my eyes, such a move would have further elevated her predestined Hall of Fame status. It’s undeniable that she is in top form – arguably, the best she’s ever been – and she exerts maximum effort in her craft.”
Dreamer also shared his viewpoint on why Natalya should have emerged as the champion: “Imagine the monumental moment if Nattie were to have won. It would have created a heartwarming scene and, considering it’s a first time occurrence, would have deserved an outstanding response equal to the babyface pop Chelsea [Green] received, despite the latter being a heel. I personally believe that Nattie was the one deserving of this accolade.”
In the tournament’s following round, Lyra Valkyria is set to clash with IYO SKY on Monday, January 13. This segment of WWE RAW will entertain wrestling fans at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, and will be aired live on Netflix.
