In an interview on “The Roommates Show” podcast, the WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, Paul Levesque, widely known as Triple H, discussed the lasting influence of D-Generation X during the notorious WWE Attitude Era.

For a deeper understanding of the topics covered on the podcast, here are some highlights:

Considering the impact that he and Shawn Michaels, through DX, had on a generation of young people, Triple H revealed, “We were just discussing this yesterday. We’re transitioning to Netflix with [WWE] Monday Night Raw from January 6, and we found ourselves in this ‘lunch and learn’ session for Netflix in Los Angeles yesterday. There were a plethora of media there, and quite interestingly, about half a dozen distinguished media personalities confessed to me their urge to come up and say ‘suck it’ to me and pull off the crotch chop.”

When asked about what D-Generation X was up to during the infamous Attitude Era, Triple H said, “It’s somewhat amusing when reflecting upon those times when the Attitude Era was at its peak, the time when the DX phenomenon took off, and when [the crotch chop] became popular. Remarkably, looking back at it now seems surreal and it’s special, but back then, it felt like it was simply something we were ardent about and we were just doing our thing.”
