MMA Legend, UFC Hall of Famer, and mastermind behind #August1Warning Tito Ortiz won his bid to sit on the Huntington Beach city council this week on Election Night. As reported by our sister site Sherdog, the pro athlete beat out fourteen other candidates for the position, receiving 14% of the vote overall. Ortiz is a vocal Donald Trump supporter, stretching back to his time competing on The Celebrity Apprentice. Throughout Election Night, the candidate was posting videos on his Instagram from his campaign headquarters.
Tito has posted the following statement on his website regarding his goals for the office:
I am committed to representing Huntington Beach with honor and distinction and will bring my winning record to ensure success on multiple fronts. I pledge to work with all of my future council colleagues in a positive manner to take care for our city and make Huntington Beach Safe Again!
In his excitement for the electoral process, Ortiz encouraged everyone in Huntington Beach to vote in interviews with reporters all throughout the night, even after the polls closed.
