This week, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) applied for trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for phrases associated with wrestlers like Jey Uso and Baron Corbin, among others.

WWE lodged several trademarks, on July 3 for “Yeet,” a popular catchphrase of Jey Uso, the “King Corbin” moniker used by Baron Corbin, as well as “The Match Beyond,” and “New Blood Rising”.

Notably, “New Blood Rising” was the name for a pay-per-view event from WCW that was held in 2000. “The Match Beyond” was a subtitle connected to the WarGames wrestling match, which was first introduced in 1987. The name “WarGames” was later reintroduced by WWE for several NXT and main roster pay-per-view events.

Below are the detailed descriptions for the filed trademarks:

– The Match Beyond/New Blood Rising: This filing is for an ongoing professional wrestling show as well as the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events distributed live and via media channels and through various platforms. It includes wrestler news and information, plus setting up social entertainment events for wrestling fans. It also covers the provision of a website providing sports entertainment information, online newsletters in the sports entertainment domain, and blogs focusing on sports entertainment.
