The rivalry between the fierce competitors, Lexis King and Dante Chen, has escalated dramatically as it was revealed on the June 4, 2024 episode of NXT that the two will engage in a Singapore Cane Match the following week.
In the wake of King’s tussle with Robert Stone and the recently discharged Von Wagner, Stone arranged for Chen to battle King on May 15. Surprisingly, despite his overall unfavorable win-loss record, Chen managed to secure a win against King.
King was not pleased with this outcome. He brushed it off as a random occurrence and was eager to rule out a recurrence. However, in their rematch, Chen once more emerged as the victor, leading to King launching an aggressive attack on him post-match.
During this week’s episode, in midst of his interview with Kelly Kincaid, King was interrupted by Chen. The two instantly broke into a fight, which had to be dissolved by the officials.
Just a few minutes after this event, Vic Joseph confirmed that to settle their differences, King and Chen will go head-to-head in a Singapore Cane Match in the coming week.
