On a recent episode of his podcast, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, Matt discussed his past WWE No Mercy 2006 match with Shane Gregory Helms. He noted some highlights from the podcast:

He spoke about the reinvention of Shane Helms as Gregory Helms in 2006 and his new look. Hardy said, “They wanted to alter Shane’s character and give him a more serious edge. Choosing the name ‘Gregory’ also avoided confusion with Shane McMahon. The new look gave him an aura of being different from The Hurricane character. Shane’s change was seen as him proving he could be taken as a serious competitor.”

On the “Hall of Fame” podcast, presented by Booker T, an interview was conducted with The Undertaker who discussed the transformation of wrestling over time. Some noteworthy points included:

The Undertaker compared the differences between his era and today’s wrestling era, noted that today’s performers exhibit a level of athleticism he never thought possible. However, he voiced concern about how the physical stunts for audience reactions could place wrestlers at risk for serious injury. He also emphasized the importance of storytelling in wrestling and shared his experience transitioning into ‘The Undertaker’ character. He revealed, “In the start, I played the unyielding killer. As time passed, I had to make myself more vulnerable by expanding my repertoire which Brett Hart helped me with.”
