In El Paso, Texas, Saturday night saw the recording of a host of matches for upcoming TNA iMPACT! shows to be aired on AXS TV, courtesy of TNA Wrestling.
Keep in mind the outcome reveals below might not be aired in the order presented, due to possible editing for the broadcast!
The opening match was between Macklin and Joe Alonzo. Despite claiming Chicago as his hometown, Alonzo announced himself from El Paso, leading to loud culero chants and unpopularity with the crowd, while Macklin had the audience on his side. After maintaining control throughout most of the bout, Macklin came out victorious with a spinning fisherman suplex.
The thrill continued to Maggie Lee vs. Dani Luna; contenders showcasing contrasting wrestling styles. Lee maintained early dominance using her power, but Luna eventually took control with agility and force. After landing a powerbomb and following up with a modified version of the same move, Luna secured the win.
The arena announcements also revealed a merchandise giveaway during the intermission, triggering much excitement among the fans. Reigning TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich also made her appearance, emphasizing her proud association with TNA and her readiness to defend her title. However, the highlight of the evening was the announcement of a Slamovich vs. Jade match in the following week by Santino Marella, with Tessa Blanchard being barred from ringside.
In a thrilling tag team parley, Travis Williams and Judas Cards of The Northern Armory took on The Rascalz, with The Rascalz receiving major approval from the audience. Despite some cheeky tactics from The Northern Armory, The Rascalz won the match with a double top-rope foot stomp.
The last facility spotlighted the appearance of Chavo Guerrero to a roaring crowd, confronting AJ Francis and his mockery of the city. Resulting in a challenge for a Lucha Libre-style match in the coming week, the moment had the crowd in an uproar.
The evening continued with Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana, a match dominated by Santana, which had the crowd behind him. After retreating midway, Ali was eliminated via a 10-count count-out, leaving Santana as the winner who fueled further cheers by declaring the ring his domain.
The evening was capped off with a prom night brawl involving TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, NXT Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson, Spitfire, and Gigi Dolin. With Santino Marella having to intervene to restore order, he announced a title defense in the following week with Spitfire being restrained from ringside.
The audience also witnessed other high-octane matches involving Ryan Nemeth, Magno, Mance Warner, Elias, Joe Hendry, The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers), and finally, a tense standoff between Cora Jade and Masha Slamovich where Slamovich emerged victorious with a Brainbuster.
The System also made their grievances known, particularly about Moose’s loss to Femi and their forthcoming challenge in The Ultimate X return match.
