During a recent interview on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” professional wrestler Sonya Deville, also known as Daria Rae Berenato, shared her thoughts on her future after leaving WWE.

Here are some key points from the podcast :

Regarding her future plans: “I’m not certain about my next step. I’ve had informal talks, but nothing has been finalized yet. I’m equally passionate about wrestling and MMA. I participated in three amateur fights before my WWE stint. The only reason I transitioned from MMA to WWE was because of the financial stability WWE provided me as I was struggling financially, working as a bartender in LA. It would have been foolish to turn down the WWE offer which gave me a chance to train and get paid. This opportunity led me to a path where I developed a deep love for wrestling over the past decade. However, acting and fighting have always been my first loves, and I’m keeping that door open as well.”

With reference to resuming wrestling or reentering MMA: “The probability of me continuing wrestling or returning to MMA is nearly identical at the moment.”

Regarding whether she has been approached by MMA promotions: “No, because I haven’t sought any opportunities actively. I’ve been contemplating MMA, and that’s why I brought it up here. The next stages of my life will be deeply influenced by what I desire rather than other influencing factors. The path that has the strongest call to my passion will be the one that I’ll follow.”
