It isn’t an uncommon occurrence for top-tier talents to be sent back to NXT where they can flaunt why they graduated from the developmental program. Nonetheless, the current WWE Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green, discovered that even players from the NXT circuit could outplay them on certain days.
In the recent episode of NXT, Green, accompanied by her solo security officer Piper Niven, participated in a tag team match at the beginning of the session. They went against Sol Ruca and Zaria, following a heated clash that occurred between the teams the previous week.
Ruca managed to upset the game with her Sol Snatcher move that left Green’s nose bleeding. Surprisingly, Ruca achieved a pinfall on Green herself, creating a buzz amongst the spectators.

WWE could have avoided the current champion’s defeat by having Zaria pin down Niven, but this unusual turn of events might hint at Ruca’s potential challenge for the Women’s United States Championship in the times to come. As per usual practice, someone pinning a reigning champion often heralds a title opportunity.
