One of the big newsworthy items coming out of Royal Rumble weekend was Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle‘s reported confrontation that went down backstage at Houston. Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported word of such happening and talkSPORT out of U.K. is confirming the occurrence, but has additional details on the matter.
According to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT who happened to be on site for the Rumble event and according to a WWE official, was told that the confrontation went down as follows:
Lesnar approached Riddle and put a hand on The Bro’s shoulder before telling him, “Kid, you might as well stop saying my name and tagging me in sh*t because you and I will never work together. Ever.”
Riddle was said to have kept his cool and did have some comments for Brock, but Lesnar just kept on walking, not wanting to hear anything Riddle had to say.
McCarthy follows up by saying talkSPORT was told that Riddle’s short time and unceremonious elimination from the Rumble Match was not a consequence of his confrontation with Lesnar, but was a matter that was always planned for the bout.
