* IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jon Moxley def. Tetsuya Naito. Moxley cut a promo thanking the fans and calling out Shota Umino. Ren Narita attacked Moxley and said he’d be the next challenger before Umino made the save.

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) recently held its ‘Windy City Riot’ event in Chicago, IL, and it was a night filled with thrilling matches and exciting moments. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from the show.

The event kicked off with a match between Matt Vandgriff and Zane Jay. Vandgriff emerged victorious in this hard-fought battle, showcasing his skills and determination.

Next up was a tag team match featuring Alex Windsor and Trish Adora against Mina Shirakawa and Viva Van. Windsor and Adora proved to be the better team, securing a win in an action-packed encounter.

One of the standout matches of the night was between Ren Narita and Minoru Suzuki. Despite being the underdog, Narita managed to defeat Suzuki, shocking the crowd and making a name for himself in the process.

Stephanie Vaquer successfully defended her NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against AZM. However, after the match, Alex Windsor challenged Vaquer for a future title shot, which Vaquer accepted. This sets up an exciting matchup for the upcoming Resurgence event.

In a highly anticipated match for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship, TMDK faced off against Guerrillas Of Destiny, Fred Rosser & Tom Lawlor, and The West Coast Wrecking Crew. TMDK emerged as the victors, showcasing their dominance in the tag team division.

Shota Umino and Jack Perry put on a fantastic match, with Umino coming out on top. Perry showed respect by offering a handshake after the match, which Umino gladly accepted.

Mustafa Ali faced off against Hiromu Takahashi in another thrilling encounter. Ali managed to secure the victory, proving his skills against one of NJPW’s top stars.

The Riot Rules Match was a chaotic affair, featuring Gabe Kidd, KENTA, Clark Conners, and David Finlay against Eddie Kingston, TJP, Jeff Cobb, and Homicide. Kidd’s team emerged victorious, but Kingston challenged Kidd to a No Ropes Last Man Standing Match for the upcoming Resurgence event.

Zack Sabre Jr. defended his NJPW World Television Championship against Matt Riddle in a hard-hitting match. Sabre Jr. came out on top, but Jeff Cobb issued a challenge to him after the match, setting up a potential future title match.

In a non-title match, Nic Nemeth defeated Tomohiro Ishii, showcasing his skills against one of NJPW’s toughest competitors.

The main event of the night featured an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match between Jon Moxley and Tetsuya Naito. Moxley emerged as the victor, capturing the prestigious title. After the match, Moxley cut a promo thanking the fans and calling out Shota Umino. However, Ren Narita attacked Moxley and declared himself as the next challenger before Umino made the save.
