At next Saturday’s AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event, Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland will headline the show in a triple threat match. However, Page may miss the event.

In the main event of Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Joe, Strickland, and Brian Cage faced off against Page, HOOK, and Rob Van Dam. There were concerns that Page may have broken his ankle during the match, but it was simply a work.

On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained what happened. He said,

“Hangman is not hurt. He worked an ankle injury. And the reason that he worked the ankle injury is because he has something going on in his personal life and he may not be able to work the pay-per-view. If he can’t work the pay-per-view then this is the cover story as to why he can’t work the pay-per-view, he injured his ankle. Virtually nobody knew about it and I don’t know if even the people in the match knew that he was going to do this.”

He added, “There were people very close to Hangman who even this morning didn’t know what was going on. I presume that him and Tony talked about it but I can’t tell you that for sure. The point of the story is, he is okay. He may work the pay-per-view, he may not work the pay-per-view and I don’t know if we’re going to know whether he’s going to work the pay-per-view or not until maybe the last minute. I don’t know what the personal issues are but they are there and that’s what’s going on.”

At the upcoming AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event, wrestling fans are eagerly anticipating a triple threat match between Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland. However, there is a possibility that Hangman Page may not be able to participate in the event due to personal reasons.

During the main event of Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page, along with HOOK and Rob Van Dam, faced off against Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage. Concerns arose when it appeared that Page may have suffered a broken ankle during the match. However, it has been revealed that the injury was simply a work, or a scripted part of the match.

Bryan Alvarez, speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, shed some light on the situation. According to Alvarez, Hangman Page is not actually injured but worked the ankle injury as a cover story for potential personal issues that may prevent him from participating in the pay-per-view event. It seems that only a select few individuals were aware of this situation, and even some of Page’s closest associates were unaware until recently.

Alvarez explained, “Hangman is not hurt. He worked an ankle injury. And the reason that he worked the ankle injury is because he has something going on in his personal life and he may not be able to work the pay-per-view. If he can’t work the pay-per-view then this is the cover story as to why he can’t work the pay-per-view, he injured his ankle.”

The uncertainty surrounding Page’s availability for the pay-per-view event adds an intriguing element to the upcoming match. Alvarez mentioned that it is unclear whether Page will ultimately be able to participate or not, and fans may not receive confirmation until the last minute. The personal issues affecting Page remain undisclosed, leaving fans and insiders curious about the nature of these circumstances.

While it is unknown whether Hangman Page will ultimately be able to compete at AEW Revolution 2024, it is reassuring to know that his ankle injury was not genuine. This revelation provides some relief for fans who were concerned about his well-being. As the event approaches, wrestling enthusiasts will eagerly await updates on Page’s situation and hope for a positive outcome that allows him to showcase his skills in the highly anticipated triple threat match.
