Paul Heyman, recently in conversation with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, discussed his appearance on tonight’s episode of NXT, which, for the first time in years, will go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite for a one-off week.
Alongside Heyman, the likes of John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka and seemingly The Undertaker will also be appearing. While the deck has evidently been stacked to mark their ground and at the same time send a message to AEW, Heyman, ever the wizard with words, had this to say:
“The guest appearances on this show are merely to call attention to the enormously gifted talent pool that is offered to the viewer on a weekly basis every Tuesday night. I would humbly suggest this NXT roster can compete with any claim there has ever been a more significant or more talented roster.”
Heyman will corner Bron Breakker against Carmelo Hayes, who’ll have John Cena in his corner, in tonight’s main event. Hyping up the match, Paul E. heaped praise on the young Superstars and anointed them as potential future WrestleMania main eventers. He said,
“Bron Breakker versus Carmelo Hayes, in and of itself, is a demonstration of the magnificent future this industry is going to enjoy. There are few, if any, better representatives in the talent competing for the WrestleMania main events coming up in the next several years.”
