Appearing recently on the “Maggie & Perloff” podcast, Tony Khan revealed when he began contract negotiations with ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ Adam “Edge” Copeland. The AEW President said,

“Not long after AEW Grand Slam, we had Adam Copeland reach out, he was out of contract. He is one of the most popular and one of the most successful wrestlers of all time. To have Adam Copeland in AEW is a huge deal for us.”

For reference, AEW Grand Slam emanated from Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20, 2023, while ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ debuted in AEW at WrestleDream on October 1. Copeland’s WWE contract is rumored to have expired on September 30.

Copeland had his last WWE match on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, which was held in Toronto, where he defeated Sheamus.

He is set to make his AEW in-ring debut tonight on AEW Dynamite, against Luchasaurus.
