Pay-per-view service provider, InDemand, has recently declared its intention to discontinue operations in the year ahead.

The pay-per-view service saw its inception in 1985, known originally as Viewer’s Choice before rebranding to InDemand in 2000. In its heyday, InDemand was the primary distributor of major wrestling events on a pay-per-view basis.

Despite facing hurdles in the late 1990s while striving to secure clearance for ECW to air, it managed to stay a dominant force in the pay-per-view distribution landscape until its recent closure announcement.

It has been affirmed by Dale Hopkins, CEO of InDemand, that the business will be winding up its operations officially by the resolution of 2025.

Following InDemand’s cessation of operations, telecoms giants Comcast, Charter Communications, and Cox Communications will assume the reigns of pay-per-view distribution.
