The NXT Injury Report for this week covers the hellacious NXT Women’s Championship bout between Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai. Both competitors fought tooth and nail for the ultimate prize in NXT’s Women’s division, but Shirai managed to hold onto her title. Still, neither woman walked away without feeling the effects of the clash.
Rhea Ripley had no less than five earings ripped out during the contest, with doctors reportedly having to tear off parts of her ear in order to make it “look normal-ish”. The retaining champion is suffering from a sore neck and whiplash, which will put her out of action temporarily but not for long.
In other action this week, Arturo Ruas experienced a right bicep injury in his match against Kushida. He is scheduled for an MRI and is not medically cleared at this time.
