NJPW G1 Climax 30- Night 9 Results (10/5) Golden Star On The Rise
New Japan Pro-Wrestling continued the 30th G1 Climax on Monday. Kota Ibushi took the lead in the closely-contested A Block, getting a win over Will Ospreay in the main event. The match saw Ibushi get revenge for his Wrestle Kingdom 13 loss to Ospreay in 2019. After the match, Ibushi once again promised to become God.
Elsewhere on the show, Tomohiro Ishii picked up a much-needed win against Taichi, dropping the Holy Emperor in under-20 minutes to keep himself alive. Also getting a much needed second win in the tournament, Jeff Cobb overcame every obstacle Jay White (and Gedo) put in front of him. Cobb eventually finished the match by literally throwing Gedo at Jay White, and then smashing White with Tour of the Islands.
Yujiro Takahashi was not so lucky, The Tokyo Pimp was eliminated from viable competition on Monday in his loss to Shingo Takagi. Takahashi will wrestle the rest of his matches, but can only play spoiler.
Kazuchika Okada snuck out a win against Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki dominated a majority of the match before getting rolled up by The Rainmaker. Still no ripcord lariat from the 5-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
