MJF Knows He’s Already A Once In A Lifetime Performer, Says He’ll Lead Pro Wrestling For The Next 25 Years
MJF knows he’s already a great wrestler and he’s only going to get better.
“The Salt Of The Earth” recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, who shared a praiseworthy quote from an interview with Eric Bischoff where he called MJF a special character. Bischoff explained that he’s spent 33 years in the wrestling business in some form and sees the product more as a producer than as a fan. He said that every once in a while something happens that stops that ‘movie’ in his head because it’s so entertaining, and said MJF is the guy that is making that happen.
“MJF is that guy, he is that character. There are others,” Bischoff said, “but I’m really just [focusing] on him because I think he’s a special character and they don’t come around very often.”
Bischoff went on to call MJF an ‘amazing, amazing talent’ and said he’s very impressive in his abilities. MJF listened to the comments and said it’s great to hear that from someone who has such a great mind for business—but it’s not something he didn’t already know.
“Eric Bischoff is one of the greatest minds in the history of our great sport. I think anyone that disagrees with that is a complete buffoon. It feels good to hear that but at the same time, it’s not something that I didn’t already know. As I’ve stated, I’m going to be the guy that’s going to be the leader of pro wrestling for the next 25 years, there’s nobody else on the planet that can make that statement. I’m 24, in 25 years I’m going to be 49. How old is Chris Jericho? Chris Jericho is 49, so when I say that I know it sounds crazy but it’s true,” MJF said. “This is simple math I’m giving you, and with my wrestling style that I’m already doing now at this point—being safe, being intelligent, using the ring to my advantage, using the referee’s discretion to my advantage—I might be able to do this until I’m 70!
“I already know I’m a once-in-a-lifetime performer, I already know that I cut better promos than anyone else has, perhaps in the history of this great sport, I already know that I put on wrestling clinic after wrestling clinic,” MJF said. “The crazy thing that people don’t know and understand is since I’m 24 now I’m only going to get better. That’s scary, Will. That’s scary because I’m already a top name in the industry now.”
