During a recent episode of the “Superstar Crossover” podcast, current AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, heaped praise on her fellow wrestler, Mariah May. Sharing her admiration, Mone said,

“Mariah May was initially just an extremely enthusiastic fan. She eventually made her way to Japan and attended STARDOM to hone her wrestling skills. Today, she ranks among the finest in our roster. She’s one of many talents I haven’t had the opportunity to face in the ring yet. I am eager to see them all getting the exposure and the grand chance they deserve to showcase their talent.”

Mone, who became part of AEW in March this year, didn’t stop just at praising May. She also expressed admiration for other names in the industry. She added,

“Skye Blue works tirelessly week after week. She willingly completes any task assigned to her and does even more for the female members of the locker room.

Willow, in my eyes, is a superstar in the making. She has all that it takes to achieve immense success. All she needs to do is retain her individuality. She has an astonishing beauty. We have a powerhouse of talented women in our team. For instance, Toni Storm is making waves, and Thunder Rosa possesses a strong will and desire for more.”

Mercedes Mone joined AEW almost two years after ending her association with WWE due to a disagreement over the creative strategies outlined in May 2022.

Mone has an impressive wrestling cv, including her stint with AEW, her ownership of the TBS belt, battles for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and her past IWGP Women’s Champion title.

Mone and Stephanie Vaquer, the reigning NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, are expected to clash head-to-head in a match with all the stakes at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door this coming weekend.
